With global solar energy demand seen to rapidly grow this year, Sungrow, the global leading inverter, and energy storage system solution supplier, looks to be at the forefront of the Philippines’ drive toward a clean and renewable energy future.
A study from Bloomberg
Intelligence
revealed that global demand for solar energy will jump 20% to 30% this year.
Furthermore, solar capacity in the Asia Pacific region is also expected to grow
by as much as 240 gigawatts (GW).
The Philippines, with a population of 110 million, has been a star performer in Southeast Asia with an economic growth of 6-7 percent in recent years. However, problems such as electricity supply shortages and high prices have long restricted the development of the country’s manufacturing industry.
In addition to utility-scale PV projects, the demand for residential and C&I PV plant construction is rising in the Philippines. Sungrow looks to aid in unlocking the country’s clean energy resources’ full potential through its state-of-the-art inverter solutions.
Sungrow’s SG20RT-P2 residential inverter
For
the residential scenario, Sungrow’s newest generation of residential solution SG20RT-P2
is an inverter compatible with
higher-power photovoltaic (PV) modules, allowing more energy to be harvested
from solar panels.
Furthermore, the inverter is equipped with a Smart IV Curve diagnosis and grid fault record function for reliable operation and maintenance of the solar facility.
Sungrow’s SG125CX-P2 C&I inverter
As
the country’s commercial and industrial market continues to recover from the
impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and at the same time, are looking for more
sustainable ways to power their businesses, Sungrow also launched the
SG125CX-P2, its newest C&I PV inverter solution. The product comes with a
30A per MPP, intelligent IV curve diagnostics, integrated Type 1+2 DC
overvoltage protection, and AFCI arc detection – all of which are optimized for
better function and safety of the solar PV system.
Sungrow’s SP600S optimizer
To further maximize the solar systems in the Philippines, Sungrow also launched its SP600S smart power optimizer, a module-level power electronics (MLPE) product that is designed to help increase the generation capacity of a solar facility or a rooftop installation with its intelligent shade-proof control technology, and, at the same time, improve PV system safety.
And the SP600S
optimizer is perfectly compatible with the residential and C&I inverters
from Sungrow, making it a recommended combination to future-proof a solar PV
system in complex scenarios.
Under
the original Philippine Energy Plan, the Philippine government aims to increase
the share of renewable energy in the mix to 35% by 2030, and 50% by 2040.
Sungrow is keen on supporting the country’s energy sector to help its renewable
energy goal.
“We’ve
been contributing to the Philippines market for 10 years. As a key industry
pioneer, we embed technical innovation and sustainability at the heart of our
business and continue to offer competitive solutions and services to lead the
way toward a greener future for the Philippines,” Sungrow Southeast Asia Sales
Director, Kevin Guo said.
Sungrow
has been a key player in the Philippine energy industry since 2013,
consistently offering competitive and innovative solutions that have
significantly enhanced the country’s renewable energy portfolio.
“As the country looks to meet its climate targets and transition to a low-carbon economy, the need for innovative and reliable renewable energy solutions has never been greater,” Kevin Guo concluded.
