The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has sealed Php 20.02 billion worth of new contracts for the construction of its transmission projects for the first half of the year, holding company Synergy Grid & Development Phils. Inc.
In a Manila Bulletin report, NGCP said that the new batch of projects is included under the Php37.6 billion worth of capital expenditures (CAPEX) that the company approved back in March.
Among the newly-signed contracts include the permanent restoration of the C.P Garcia-Ubay 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line special towers, well as the other facilities affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Odette last year. NGCP also looks to work on the transmission lines affected by the North-South Commuter Railway extension project being implemented by the Department of Transportation.
Also included is the 69-kV Mexico substation expansion project which is part of the 230kV San Simon substation, and the Zamboanga Peninsula voltage improvement project.
The transmission company is also pursuing projects for the Visayas Grid, as well as expanding the regional control center in Cebu. Meanwhile, in Mindanao, NGCP is advancing on the construction of the Mindanao substation expansion.
